Pipes are produced by horizontal extrusion of molten polymer through an annular opening into several sizing, running through cooling devices that stabilise the final dimensions. For the pipe production, the materials may have to be compounded.

High-speed processing, dimensional accuracy and stability, material strength and fit-function correctness are important as these are functional commercial products.
